For the last five years, FOL Ireland has successfully challenged the Irish public through their Four Peaks Challenges, and the Ten Munro Challenge to raise over €110,000. 


This year the challenge continues.........

Would you like to climb some of Ireland's highest mountains in a fun, relaxed and safe way?

Friends of Londiani invites you to enter into the Mourne Mountain Challenge while raising much needed funds for our Water, Health and Education projects in Kenya.

"Footprints to Kenya" - The Friends of Londiani Mountain Challenge takes place this year in the Mourne Mountains from Friday June 4th to Monday June 7th 2010.

Routes will be in the Mourne mountains and will be tailored to suit the ability of the groups involved.  So even if you’ve never climbed a mountain before there will be a route plan for you!!

Who can enter?

Individuals - Apply today for the opportunity of a lifetime - meet new friends and enjoy the challenge!
Companies - why not turn this challenge into a team building exercise for your company?

Costs:

Individuals - Friends of Londiani are asking each participant to raise €400 for the event.
Corporate Teams - Friends of Londiani are asking each team of 4 plus a driver to raise €1600 per team.

What will your fundraising do in Kenya?

All proceeds from this event will go towards Friends of Londiani ongoing Health, Education and Water projects in Kenya. Below are some examples of the costs of these projects.

  • Cost of a child’s secondary education – €100 per year
  • Cost of a water tank for a family – €750
  • Cost of providing wages for a staff member working in the Bethel Children’s Home – €700 per year
  • Cost of providing food for 70 children for a month in the Bethel Children’s Home - €500 per month
  • Cost of course for HIV/AIDS education for 100 people - €800 per course
  • Cost of running a Public Health Field Day for communities covering education on HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Water, Dental Hygiene, De-worming, and child health - €600 per day
